The beloved comedy-drama series “Panchayat” is set to return for its third season on May 28, as announced by streaming platform Prime Video. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and written by Chandan Kumar, the upcoming season sees the reprisal of roles by Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, and Sanvikaa. Premiering initially in Hindi, the show will also be available with dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, catering to a wider audience base.

“Panchayat” follows the journey of Abhishek Tripathi, played by Jitendra Kumar, an engineering graduate who reluctantly takes on the role of secretary in a panchayat office in the remote village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh. The series, which debuted in April 2020, quickly gained popularity, leading to a second season in May 2022.
Manish Menghani, director of content licensing at Prime Video India, expressed excitement for the upcoming season, emphasizing the show’s appeal rooted in its portrayal of rural life and satirical take on everyday issues faced by Phulera’s residents.
